THE ICAS SUITE
4 day festival of festivals
2011
Following the small but splendid ICAS KITCHEN, which cooked up the goods during CTM.11 for several days in the Paloma Bar, the four day ICAS SUITE caters for a wide array of tastes and foreign tongues during the second Berlin Music Week (7. – 10. September 2011): ICAS/ECAS-member festivals from Europe and North and South America present a selection of their work and the most exciting artists in their networks at various venues in Berlin (Festsaal Kreuzberg, Blumenbar, Monarch, Paloma, West Germany).
The ICAS SUITE’s broad musical spectrum reflects ICAS members’ open-ended approach to issues of form encompassing the whole panorama of contemporary and experimental music presently holding out on the fringes of forced marketability. In an eclectic mix of club music, avant-Pop, experiment, listening, noise and improvisation, the ICAS SUITE club nights, concerts and performance gigs showcase established as well as up-and-coming artists from the member festivals’ home turf: a great deal of talent yet to discover.
Furthermore, the ICAS SUITE's purpose is to comunicate the ideas and aims behind the ICAS and ECAS networks to a wider audience.
